Fantasy Concert
My fantasy concert may be lengthy, but the hours spent would be worthwhile. I think I'd hold the concert at Nokia Theater in NYC, although a smaller venue would be more ideal. I just can't think of one that does a band justice. Of course, I'd be up front and center, anyway! I think I would have Lou Reed open, playing mostly tracks off Transformer and a few Velvet Underground favorites, followed by a short set by Peter Gabriel, showcasing his hits. HIM would follow nicely with an extended set, playing lots of old songs and rarities, too. Next, Iggy Pop, with or without the Stooges, will play an energetic set, incorporating Stooges favorites with some of his solo stuff. That will prep the crowd for David Bowie. As my favorite and most respected performer, he takes the closing set. He'd play a ridiculously thorough set, playing a bit off every album. It would be pure bliss.
Of course, I'd also love to add another legend to this line up, Marc Bolan along with Mickey Finn and the rest of T-Rex. While the two are deceased, my ultimate fantasy concert would definitely include them, probably positioned right after Iggy Pop. And, what the hell, let's get everyone back on stage at the end for some kind of cheesy ensemble rendition of an irrelevant song. It would make it all the more memorable.
Now you got me wishing! Dream on...
