I feel that is a complement of venus doom, as they did with the records of uneasy listening with a complementary duality even with the colors of the art.
But also I have the impression that the band is trying more to please his new American public without concent to his audience that met with their first 4 albums which we love.
I hope they return to the good way with a good artistic evolution, because I admire Valo as an artist and I do not want to lose that admiration, venus doom was not entirely to my liking but was not as bad as dark light and I hope to do better.
but speaking of the new art, I think it must have better drawings.

... they are trying to appeal to the American side of their fanbase. Where do people get this idea? Venus Doom was great, Dark Light was great, the American public didn't catch on to HIM until Dark Light, and with that being said, they have never kept a consistent sound. It's not like they're trying to make more money, they just want to make good music, it doesn't have to appeal to anybody. What I think when I see all these "selling out" comments is that HIM has to keep a consistent sound, but they're too good to do that and that shows in every one of their albums. It's really, really heartbreaking to see this, HIM could never sell out.

I really want to know where i can ger that t-shirt...ive been looking for a good HIM shirt, but the ones i find are shit. the ones in hottopic, virgin.. but this one looks amazing!
i like how you guys can shift from style to style and still have the same escence. Like in Venus Doom you went back to an album similar to Greatest Lovesongs.. I hope Screamworks is a combination of Love Metal and Dark Light. That would be simply amazing..

I don't want the HIM sign to change. The cover is really interesting. Of the now 2 ways of writing HIM, I'm in love with the original one that's written horizontally.Ville looks really healthy which is excellent and I have high hopes for the new album. Eternal Love for HIM!

I'm really looking forward for the new album in February for sure! But I must say that I don't like so much the album cover (if this on his t-shirt should be it ;)). But nevertheless the most important thing is that the album will be great and I'm really sure it will! Cos every album of HIM has been great in the past and every new in the future will be too!! ;) And I must admit Ville looks really "hot" on this picture above!! ;)

i don't know why some people say they don't like the album cover.let's face it! people used to say that about Venus Doom cover too, so they aren't satisfied no matter what! i personally like it, it's a very interesting painting. it shows two faces of love, the sacred and the profane. it's a nun or maybe a saint, it has to do with Katherine Wheel , maybe. love must be pure, sacred, beautiful ,virtuous, in theory, but in practice is all about pain, torture, temptation, treason, lust. so, stop judging without finding the meaning of the painting.with HIM, everything makes sens, everything is connected in a way .

I second you Vampiremoon, the paining is very deep and looks to be influenced colour wise by Van Gogh, a tortured soul.

I'd like the new album to be similar to Razorblade Romance and GLV666 because I love their style. it's "the real HIM music style" for me and I hope Ville'll go back to the roots on the new album. GLV 666 and Razorblade Romance are really amazing and I prefer this specific, original, glamorous, gothic love metal. these albums sound really exceptionally, this is really sensual music.

I believe this album cover might give the message that sometimes LOVE and sometimes even RELIGION can be TWO-FACED; deceitful and hypocritical.

i was wondering at first why the release date was changed then i realized that valentines day is on a sunday and cd's almost always come out on tuesday..don't really know why.
btw i kinda like the cover..takes some time to get used to i guess but its something to ponder over anyways..

I think it represents the duality of women... They can be nurturing and loving but in the blink of an eye they can become horrifyingly cruel creatures... Maybe he felt that this cover reflected some aspect of his life... Everyone deals with crappy relationships and i m pretty sure that we ve all experianced a situation in which someone we loved has turned into our greatest fear..

Well, I don't like that cover, but the music is what really matters so as long as the music is good they can put whatever they want as a cover.
What I see in the cover...
It really looks like an nun. If you look at the black thing on her head and the blue circle around her head. It looks like one of those things you see around saints etc. I m not realigous in any way but for some reason this is what i got from the picture. Her left eye is different... The right eye looks so sympathetic,worm even sad but the left one is like glass... Cold, distant... If you look at the heartagram it is at the exact position of where a cross whould have been in the original version of a nun.. The whole double eyes and lips give the effect of movement. The way I see it, it's like her face is melting off and they captured it in motion...

Personally, I like it.HIM have always done interesting cover art and this is no different. For me at least, it's part of what makes them so appealing as yet again they are not following convention.

Como no se ha entendido la traduccion lo digo en español jeje , habia dicho que no me gusta nada de nada la portada apenas me gusto la de venus doom , que esta prefiero taparla y ponerle como portada algun diseño mio de heartagram, espero que el album me exprese lo contrario y me sorprendan por que ya la portada me ha chafado un poco , en fin esperemos a oir ese primer single y ese album y en fin amen a todos los fans de him jejeje
