I like it. At first I didn't, It was like "Am I hearing Fall out boy or what?" But then, after listening the song one more time, I really liked it, and now I can't stop singing it.
Obviously it's going to be a "commercial" song. It's a single! It must catch the attention of other people, and not just HIM fans! It must sell. So, for me, as a single, it's fine. I would not like a whole album like this, but I think the rest is going to be better.
Ah, and for me, It sounds like HIM, and It's a HIM song. I think they didn't lost their bases. You can recognize this song if you hear it on the radio.

Like every song on DSaBH and DL, at first listen I was ...eh, about them. On second listen they got stuck in my head then I absolutley love them! Heartkiller isn't the side of HIM I'm obsessed with, but it is energized and more youthful angsty HIM, which Valo said this album would be like. I enjoy all their music in different ways, seeing as how every song is like a different part of the band, so ofcourse everyone has mixed feelings. That being said, I've been a fan waaaay too long to ever be dissapointed. At this point, I don't expect to be blown away. I expect to drift back into the world of HIM where head banging to lyrics about love is perfectly acceptable, and where guitar solos are the soundtrack to dark poetry...
i couldnt have put it better myself. i specially like the how you mention not being blown away by their music yet how easy it is to simply drift away into their music and simply enjoy the rawity of the music. niccccceeeee.

I love the new song. I am counting down the minutes til the album comes out. I love how each album is completely different. It throws in variety and keeps the music from being mundane and repetitive. It's unfair for people to say it isn't a good song by comparing it to older tracks. Its NEW, DIFFERENT, FRESH! Pumping out the same old shit gets old quick. Keep it up, Ville. Well, in my opinion HIM was better at the beginnig. I'm their fan from '98 so I'm a bit disappointed with every new album. Greatest love songs vol.666 and Rasorblade Romance were the best albums in HIM's history. There are the best songs. What I think about Heartkiller? Yes, it's all right but nothing special. Ville, I know you can sing better!!! You have great, deep voice, so use it.

After I first heard it, I kinda went off a little in a blog because its just not good HIM. As you said, he has an amazing deep voice, which I thought really made the music stand out. Now, this release is just way too "mainstream" I suppose. IDK, im sad :(
