Ok so.. I bought Venus Doom quite a while ago, but I just couldn't bring myself to listen to it, due to some personal reasons and a really tough fall out with my best friend. We didn't speak for nearly a year and a half but out of the blue, just before Summer this year, we made up, and the first thing he asked me was if I'd listened to Venus Doom because H.I.M is our favourite band, it's what brought us together and it's how we met 5 years ago, and when I heard Cyanide Sun, and Sleepwalking Past Hope, It just makes me want to cry.. not in a bad way mind! The lyrics just touch you and it makes me want to give Ville a huge hug and thank him for bringing me and my friend together.. it has in all honesty and truthfullness changed my life, alot of ville's lyrics have gotten me through so much and im gutted i've only just started to realise it <3

I enter an atmosphere of pure dark cold gloom with despair of all untruths in which the truest is you when I wait a caress from the corpse of love underneath the cyanide sun.
Ok, so for like three days I JUST listened to THIS song. Over and over and over again. It has such a sad and lonely atmosphere! I absolutely adore it. It actually makes me feel better when I'm feeling down and alone. It's like being alone in the world but not alone in solitude. Amazingly beautiful. The guitar solo reflects the spirit of the song perfectly. As usual, I love the lyrics and Ville's voice. The end is so sweet, too! :)
"This emptiness I've made my home" and also "Caress from the corpse of love" are brilliant lines. I identify with them and appreciate the creativity in them. This song is one of the best on the album.

lies can kill your heart while love poison is dripping into it. it is bittersweet indeed.
and though its painfull we like to scratch the wounds. pain is pleasure sometimes, tears not always salty.

Oh the sweet taste of your lips and the touch of your coldness warms my blood within.
